  http://www.gps-kamera.eu has devices to record GPS information when taking pictures. Some devices even record the direction (heading) using a compass. If you happen to have mountain images that contain heading information please let me know, so I can support that in gipfel.

  I have generated a web of gipfel-referenced pictures. This is somewhat similiar to the display of geotagged pictures on google maps, but here the pictures serve as picture and map at the same time:
  
  You can start by clicking on the above screenshot. If you move the mouse over the picture, you will see where other images are hidden. The html/css stuff is taken from http://evan.nixsys.bz/note/ and only works with firefox or konqueror (IE will not work). The images were taken by me and Peter Seiderer. The process to generate such a web of pictures is fully automatic. You just need to geo-reference the pictures with gipfel.

  gipfel-0.1.3 released - this release adds image stitching functionality! You can now generate panorama images from images that have been referenced with gipfel. This release also contains a couple of bugfixes.
